Adeptus Custodes Solar Watch

My first commission painting sees the Adeptus Custodes of the Solar Watch Shield Host enter the muddy fray; a venerated Blade Champion backed up by a fearsome Telemon Dreadnought to bring swift death to the enemies of the Imperium. For this commission project, the client requested a very clean paintjob with minimal weathering, so I used a very bright base tone with faint highlights for the edges and small splashes of mud and chipping. For the red cape and pauldrons I used gradual and thin highlights of brighter reds to achieve a gradient running along the shape. The miniatures were put on mud bases decorated with tufts of grass, skulls and debris to simulate a battlefield and ongoing conflict.
